The University of Sheffield have won their second Varsity title in succession after reaching an unassailable points total on Wednesday.
Kritin Gupta ensured his side would claim the Varsity crown after his win for the University of Sheffield’s squash second team, beating his opponent 3-0 at Hallamshire.
Speaking after the match Gupta said “I didn’t have any idea that it was going to be the deciding match for the squash team as well as for the University Varsity”
“All I can say is I’m the happiest person here today” He added.
Wins elsewhere for both men’s tennis teams, the women’s lacrosse team, the men’s ultimate frisbee team, the women’s third hockey team and both canoe polo sides gave Sheffield University the all-important points on the final day of Varsity.
